VSF Germany is an international non-governmental organization that provides humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is the primary livelihood. In the Horn of Africa, VSF Germany implements programs in South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Sudan, and Ethiopia.

VSF Germany is recruiting a Regional Finance Manager (RFM). The position is based at the Regional Office in Nairobi, with frequent travel to the Field/

**Background:**

In the Horn of Africa, VSF Germany implements programs in South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Sudan, and Ethiopia.

VSF Germany is recruiting a Regional Finance Manager (RFM). The position is based at the Regional Office in Nairobi, with frequent travel to the Field/Country Offices.

**Overall Responsibilities:**

The RFM will be primarily responsible for overall regional financial performance. He/she will be a member of Management, responsible for providing strategic guidance. The RFM will also work in a peer relationship with other key Managers on budgetary and donor-compliance requirements for finance-related activities. The incumbent will be responsible for the quality standards of the tools and materials used to deliver effective financial services.

**Specific Duties and Responsibilities:**

They are, but not limited to: -

1. Overall financial management
2. Grants management
3. Financial management coordination/oversight
4. Staff and partner capacity building
5. Monitoring, controlling and reporting (financial and programmatic), external and internal
6. Strategic Leadership and Management
7. Team leadership and coordination

**Qualifications, Experience & Skills required**

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting/finance option and CPA (K).
- Post Graduate degree an added advantage.
- 7 years’ experience in finance work, 5 of which must have been in a Senior Management position in an International setting - highly desired.
- 3 years’ experience overseeing multi-country financial management highly desirable.
- Knowledge of country specific statutory requirement in 2 or more of the following countries is an added advantage – Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Sudan
- In-depth experience in setting up financial monitoring and control mechanisms.
- Good/hands on knowledge of Donor Funds Management and Reporting.
- Excellent supervisory skills and a track record managing a successful team.
- Must have good computer skills in office and specialized Accounting packages. Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central advantageous.
