EmpowerVan is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls on the move through self-defense and empowerment training, as we envision a world free of gender-based violence.

We currently operate programs in refugee camps and shelters for unaccompanied minors in Greece and are now expanding our holistic, mobile approach to Kenya, bringing empowerment programs directly to women and girls in Kakuma Refugee Camp. There, we are simultaneously implementing

There, we are simultaneously implementing a male engagement program.

We are looking for an **experienced Communications Professional** to support our team on a voluntary basis for a minimum of 4h a week.

## **Role Purpose**

As a Communications Volunteer, you will play a key role in shaping and sharing EmpowerVan’s story. You will manage and create communications content that highlights our impact, strengthens our presence, and supports our mission of gender justice and empowerment.

## **Key Responsibilities**

- Support in developing the planning of our external communications
- Develop engaging content for our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
- Support the design and delivery of creative communications campaigns to raise awareness and visibility.
- Contribute to the development of a communications strategy for EmpowerVan

## **Requirements**

- **Proven experience** in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.
- Strong storytelling, writing, and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and basic graphic design (e.g., Canva, Adobe tools).
- Experience working with NGOs or humanitarian organizations is an advantage.
- Excellent command of English is a must
- Availability of approximately 4 hours per week on a voluntary basis.
- Strong commitment to gender equality and EmpowerVan’s mission.
